Top Black Friday and Cyber Monday Robot Vacuum Deals
If you've ever wanted to buy a robot vacuum now is the time. CNET's top-rated models will be available during Black Friday and Cyber Monday, with discounts up to 57%.
The Roborock Q7 Max is a powerful robot that has smart mapping and app-based no go zones. Its 180-minute running time is impressive. It also self-empties itself and automatically refills its water tank.
- iRobot Roomba j7+
The Roomba j7+, iRobot’s smartest robot to date, is the Roomba J7+. Its most notable innovation is its camera-based obstacle-detection system. This uses AI to identify objects such as charging cables and shoes. It's also the first robot to automatically send you a photo of the object it comes across so that you can tell it to avoid it in the future.
The Combo j7+ is also the best robot to mop we've ever tested, picking up spills and dirt effortlessly without leaving any trace that was there. The iRobot application makes it simple to control. You can schedule cleanings and create Keep Out Zones to ensure that it doesn't vacuum in areas that you don't would like. It's compatible with Alexa or Google Assistant so you can start it and stop it with a voice.
The design is also superior to the other models. It features a sleek, high-end piece that resembles toys rather than an obnoxious and loud robot. Clean Base's Automatic Dirt Disposal System is also self-emptying which can cut down on cleaning time.
In our tests, the j7+ was quick to clean up dust, dirt and pet hair. The counter-rotating rubber brushes kept the debris in one location instead of scattering it around the floor. It even was able to take small gravel and sand that other robots can't. It did all without getting caught up in our pet's hair.
The j7+, although not as sophisticated as the Roomba S9 for $1,217+ Self-Emptying Vacuum Robot from iRobot, and it cannot clean the stairs, is a good option for those who want both mopping and vacuum. It's not expensive, and the IRobot app makes it user-friendly.
The iRobot Home App is easy to use, however we found it less reliable than other robotic cleaner apps. It can take some time to download updates, and sometimes it's hard to determine if the update is actually functioning until you've seen it in action.
- Roborock Q5+
When you're looking for a vacuum that does more than simply clean floors, the best choice is probably hybrid. This category of bots typically includes a built-in water tank that allows them to vacuum and mop your home at the same time. They also have a number of additional features, such as smart mapping, small obstacle avoidance, and the ability to dry and wash mopping pads. They're costly at retail, but they often lower prices on Black Friday or Cyber Monday.
Roborock is one of our favorite robot vacuums and the Q5+ isn't an exception. It's their cheapest auto-empty model, and while it lacks certain features you'll find on higher-end models (like no-go zones and multi-story memory) it's still a great option if you're willing to compromise a bit in order to save hundreds of dollars.
The Q5+ is notably gentle around obstacles such as tables and walls, robotvacuummops.com which makes it an excellent option for homes with a lot of furniture. It's also very thorough in cleaning up dust bunnies. This is a area where most robot vacuums of lower quality fall short. The technology used to navigate in the Q5+ is excellent as well, with only a few misses in corners and on walls.
The Q5+, like other Roborock products can be controlled via a few buttons on the device or via the Roborock App. With the app you can start and stop cleaning and schedules, as well as create virtual barriers and no-go zones, and alter your home map, or change the labeling of rooms.
If you opt for the Q5+ it includes a new auto emptying dock that is designed to make the robot easier to maintain. Installing it requires a screwdriver but once it's installed it can be accomplished with relative ease. It also has a large LCD display, which is nice to have when you're setting up schedules or adjusting settings. This isn't a necessary feature for most people however it can assist you in keeping the track of your robot's maintenance intervals easily.
- Narwal Freo X Ultra
The Freo X Ultra is a well-rounded robot mop and vacuum that's incredibly intelligent in its mopping and vacuuming capabilities. Its design is one of the best in the industry however, it's costly.
It's a tiny base station that looks stunning and can be hidden when not in use. The primary selling point of the station is the fact that it automates a variety of tasks, functions, and chores that other robots have to leave to you. It can keep clean and dirty water and also electrolyze and warm the water. The majority of other robots require you to do this.
Its vacuuming capabilities are also impressive. It's the only robovac that I've tried that does well at picking up dirt from floors that aren't. And it's not as loud as the costly Roomba 900 series or iRobot 980.
The Freo X Ultra is not without faults, particularly when it comes to navigation. Its LiDAR and laser sensors aren't as reliable as other robovacs, which means it is sometimes stuck or confused in certain rooms or corners of your home. It's also not able to climb stairs like other competitors and doesn't come with a docking station to create a clean zone for carpets with plush padding.
The Freo X Ultra robot vacuum and mop is an excellent choice for those who need a vacuum robot that can do it all.
If you're looking to cut costs or don't mind the limitations of the robot, there are alternatives available. Many eufy models cost significantly less. The eufy Qrevo curv, for instance is less expensive and has more features, such as stair climbing and a full-function Dock, which provides an improved overall experience when vacuuming on floors that are unfinished carpets, low-pile carpets, and even high-pile carpets.
- Eufy RoboVac G30
Eufy, a Anker company has a proven track record of making robot vacuums that strike the right balance between performance, features and price. The G30 Hybrid offers a powerful cleaning power for carpets and hard flooring, and mopping capabilities at an affordable price. It's easy to set it up, just snap on one of the side brush, turn it on and connect your charging dock. The app takes you through a few steps to connect it to Wi-Fi and then the G30 is ready to go. The dock must be placed close to an outlet that has enough space to move.
The G30 is tiny, 2.85 inches tall to be precise and will fit under many sofas and other furniture with low clearance. Its design isn't as ostentatious when compared to rival models. It features a sleek black finish and three buttons that are physical for Auto Cleaning start/pause (which scrubs a spot in a spiral pattern over two minutes), Recharge and Spot Cleaner. It is also possible to connect the G30 to Amazon Alexa or Google Home to perform cleaning that is not scheduled using voice commands.
The way the G30 cleans is what sets it apart from other models. It uses an integrated map to draw an image of the unmovable items in its path. It remembers the things it has cleaned and the areas it was unable to access. When it needs to recharge, it will automatically return to its starting point and begins cleaning from where it left off.
The eufy G30 isn't without faults however. The iRobot Roomba 675 is more built, incurs lower recurring costs, is charged faster and has a similar battery life while offering better performance on floors with no carpet and carpets with a low pile. It comes with a larger dust bin that doesn't require the same amount of emptying. It also has border strips that block it from certain areas. The G30 is cheaper and easier to maintain. Its smaller dust container doesn't need emptying as often and it struggles less with heavy materials such as cereal.
